TRADUCTION À VENIR…
In the NWT, landscapes contribute to our sense of place, influence our perceptions and inspire residents and visitors alike. Landscapes are ingrained in Aboriginal culture and survival, and define our cultural heritage. Landscapes also contribute to the economy through tourism and resource development.
Landscape architects support holistic planning practices, apply design innovation and management solutions, and encourage participation throughout planning and design processes. The work of landscape architects can be found throughout the NWT in the spaces where people live, work and play. These designed spaces are a source of identity, enjoyment and inspiration, and make the territory a more healthy and livable place.
Members of the NWTALA are guided by a landscape charter that affirms their role and commitment to the recognition, valuation, protection, planning and sustainable design and management of the landscapes in which they live and practice.
